Recently I just completed my short film 23:56. The project started when the winning scripts were chosen. Our group contained a Durector, Sound technician, Cinematographer, and a Art director. We immediately started making a storyboard on the first day and finding actors. After we started to film my group realized that properly using your story board is very important. For the first act we were filming inside a tiny sound room and it was very hard to set up the tripod and boom mic with such little room. Filming in a tight space are a lot of our precious time that we had so little of to begin with. Once we got to the Act II and Act III was a breeze. But we had no time so we had to improv the last Act. Once we got to import our clips to start editing we noticed something terrible wrong. The mic was broken for our whole film the audio had crackles and pops every second. Now we have a week to edit a while short film and do sound correction. But after many early mornings editing the video I am proud of what I made. If I could I would go back and add music, sound effects and filters. Oh yeah, I would also go back and redo the second and third acts to be what the script said to do. Bext project I will be more wise and pay very close attention to sound quality, the storyboard, and the deadline.
