New Home Page

My home page has been long overdue for a remake. My old Home page had literally no CSS. It has not been modified since August of 2016. Back in the fall I had little experience with HTML or graphic design. For my new Home page i used on of the pre-made layouts from dreamweaver.

Why I Used a Template

The templates in dreamweaver are beautiful. They are a great way to display my work. To personalize the page all I had to do is edit the fonts, links and color schemes. These templates are very easy to use. Professionals make these templates ready-to-go with all the necessary CSS and HTML for responsive design.

Was it better?

Using a template made it so much easier and faster to create a professional portfolio page. If I made another Portfolio page from scratch it would have took me months. If I made it from scratch then there would be errors and it would not be perfect. The template had no errors. There were almost no downsides to using a template.

The Downsides

There was almost no downsides to the template. The only downside it that you cant "claim" that you made it from scratch. I take pride in my work, but I hate the feeling that I didn't do all the work.

The Truth

After creating a professional looking website in a couple of days I thought of something. Do professional web designers make all their projects from scratch? Or do web designers just use these templates. Building a website takes a long time. I believe that web designers just use a set of templates that they have already made.
